The ignorance of the 90s (Part 26).

These days is something happening in the world and by me. With in the world I mean the beginning of the soccer world championship in South Africa, and by me I mean the approval of my 5-year visa for Australia, which I applied for in late April this year. So all in all - I'm happy, as you can imagine. ;-)

Today I want to take accout to the fact that the African continent is in the focus of the world for the next few weeks. The todays song I introduce you today is taken from the latest release, unbelievably back in 1997, of a band, which was very successful during the 70s and 80s.

On this release this band was without their two big names, and everybody was now interested, if this project would also work. In my opinion, it did. I used the album version of this tune to build up my own 12" version, because unfortunatly it never was released. But what has all this to do with Africa? Just a little bit, you'll see.

The relevance of the 00s (Part 16).

Hi there!

Unexpectedly for me I already am able to let you know some news. It's not about my visa, that still is in the process, no, it's about the internet connection I currently use. Actually it's my mother's one, and it has now an unlimited bandwidth! What a relief! This means to me that I can be more active here in Austria, and I'm able to post a bit more here than in the months before.

The today's posting is the second one outside of Australia, and it's about a german music project which was so much successful in the 80s. Earlier in my blog you can find a bit more of the story. 15(!) years after their last release the main members came together again planning to release a new album and a series of four 12"es. It's a real pity that the band couldn't achieve to release more than one 12", limited to 500 pieces.

At the end I was glad to find this little treasure some time ago having now the opportunity to introduce one of the four versions of this song in my blog. On this version remixer ADAM KROLL officially laid his hands on it nicely, and I just had to do a few more secret things for having now a brand new 'chronovisor mix'. ;-)

The decadence of the 80s (Part 61).

Dies ist das erste posting aus meiner Geburtsheimat Oesterreich seit November 2008.

Der heutige Beitrag bezieht sich auf einen italienischen Musiker und Produzenten, der dieses Jahr noch seinen 55. Geburtstag feiert, naemlich ROBERTO ZANETTI. Er war in den 80er und 90er Jahren unter seinem Kuenstlernamen SAVAGE sehr erfolgreich und zeichnete auch fuer eine Reihe von 'Italo Disco' Produktionen aus dieser Zeit mit verantwortlich. Eine dieser Produktionen wird hier nun vorgestellt.

Diese musikalische Eintagsfliege war ein veritabler Hit in Europa. Das Stueck bestach durch seine Pianolastigkeit (ZANETTI hatte in seiner Jugend klassischen Klavierunterricht), aber auch durch seinen Rhythmus, welcher hip hop lastig ganz dem damaligen Zeitgeist entsprach. Nicht zu vergessen sind die zahlreichen Sample-Einlagen, die hier erstmals im Vordergrund standen, anstatt den Song 'nur' einzurahmen.

Ich will euch also dazu animieren genau zuzuhoeren und selbst herauszufinden, was da so alles dahintersteckt und wuensche euch noch gute Unterhaltung mit dem neuesten 'chronovisor mix'.

P. S.: Noch was Privates: Dieser Tage habe ich persoenlich in der Botschaft um ein neues Visum fuer Australien angesucht. Mal sehen, wie lange es dauert, bis dieses bewilligt wird. Ich halte euch diesbezueglich auf dem Laufenden.

The decadence of the 80s (Part 60).

Hi folks!

Tomorrow I have to return to my old home country Austria. The trip will take five months at the maximum. The main reason ist to get a new Australian visa for the next few years. I also have to sort out other things there, and I have the opportunity to meet up my family and some of my old friends and ex-colleges again.

So today is the last posting made in Australia for a while. This one belongs to a Swiss band I really liked in the 80s and the 90s. They were one of the most innoviative new electronic musicians at that time. The todays piece of music is from their 'Golden Age' of experimental music. The 'chronovisor mix' combines the first with the second part, as simple as that.
