The relevance of the 00s (Part 18).

Hallo am letzten Tag 2010!

Schon wieder geht ein Jahr viel zu schnell zu Ende.
Aber nicht nur das, eine volle Dekade bringen wir heute hinter uns!
Ereignisreich war's nicht nur fuer mich, sondern wohl fuer die meisten von euch.

Ich hoffe, dass ihr, so wie ich, erwartungsvoll in die Zukunft blicken koennt.
Denn ich bin mir sicher, dass die Jahre 2011 - 2020 noch viel spannender werden, als die Jahre 2001 - 2010 je gewesen sind.

Musikalisch verabschiede ich diese Dekade mit einem genialen Remix gefertigt von einem 'Grashuepfer' aus Polen. Wer mehr darueber wissen will, der informiere sich hier.

Ich wuensche euch allen von ganzem Herzen einen erfolgreichen Start in die zweite Dekade dieses Jahrtausends! Moege die Macht mit euch sein! :-)

The decadence of the 80s (Part 65).

Hi music.blog.lovers all over the world!

Today is my birthday, so what else can I do than enjoying the day and posting my favourite song from one of my favourite bands of the 80s.

I combined the two available studio versions into a very listenable 12-inch version, noticing in hindsight that the channels were switched around in the original releases. Luckily I could manage that this fact doesn't matter in my "chronovisor mix".

The decadence of the 80s (Part 63).

Hallo music.blog.lovers!

Heute praesentiere ich euch ein Studioprojekt aus Pforzheim. In der Tat, so etwas hat es gegeben, und es war recht erfolgreich in Deutschland Mitte der 80er Jahre mit dem Nachspielen von Filmmusik.

Die wohl erfolgreichste Single aus meiner Sicht ist dem Film 'Anschlag bei Nacht' von John Carpenter aus dem Jahr 1976 entnommen. Acht Jahre spaeter also wurde mit Hilfe eines '80er-Jahre-electro-sounds' diese Nummer ein achtbarer Hit.

Mit persoenlich war diese Version der Maxi-Single immer zu kurz, daher habe ich sie verlaengert, so, wie es sich von Anfang an gehoert haette.

The diffidence of the 70s (Part 7). [repost]

Today I have the big honor to present you a fabulous musician, who had probably the most influence in my life since I know his music (which only begun to me in 1983).
The tune was the first in a row of the so-called Columbia Studio E recording sessions, which started in 1972 and ended with his mid-70s-retirement in 1976. One year earlier he played his last concert in Japan. His retirement because of abusing drugs and being sick should last at least 5 years, rather he did rise again like the Phoenix from the cinder.
The today's track is a very fine blues he recorded on March 9, 1972. Interestingly he didn't release it immediately, but 2 years later on his last studio album of the 70s 'Getting Up With it'. For me it's just a pity that he didn't release some more songs of this genre, but I'm happy with that one anyway. I myself just stretched it, and, my gosh, it wasn't too easy finding a way making the song as easy listening as it is at least. Just.....
