The decadence of the 80s (Part 9).

Folks, this is one of my spontaneous ideas I got sometimes, and it had to be done quickly. Lucky me I had not to think about a text for this one because Alain Patrick wrote the following words to explain this electrifying sound. He wrote:
One of the first Detroit electronic classics appeared suddenly at the beginning of the eighties, made by the later techno pioneer Juan Atkins with Rick Davis. This track has a full electro esthetic in a combination of break beats, futuristic synths, robotic vocoders and a sinister bassline. Certainly a hotspot on the electro tunes history, an all-time classic that represented at the same time a shining example for the future techno & electro artists.

Eine der wohl besten Coverversionen, die in den 80ern veroeffentlicht wurde, steht heute auf dem Programm. Dass diese auch noch aus Deutschland kommt, ist umso bemerkenswerter. Es ist schon sehr lange mein Wunsch dieser Version, die durch eine sehr gelungene flipside eine eigene Dynamik entwickelt, eine besondere Form zu verpassen. Durch eine aeusserst glueckliche Fuegung und einer gehoerigen Portion zugefuehrter Inspiration, ist es mir endlich gelungen, mittels einem sehr unspektakulaerem mixing Verfahren einen sehr spektakulaeren Mix zu machen. Noetig war dafuer nur ein einziger(!) Cut, ganz im Sinne von Razormaid. Liebe Besucher, geniesst einfach einen meiner persoenlichen Favoriten der Dekade der Dekadenz - den 80ern. ENJOY! "On joyless lanes we walk in lines, a calm but steady flow. Accompanied by loud commands our strength is running low." Was fuer ein deprimierender und doch sehr gut zur einer Musik wie dieser passende Text ist das hier! So etwas hatte es noch nicht gegeben und man vermutete eine internationale Spitzenproduktion - und das war es auch. Im Jahre 1984 brachte diese Formation ihre erste Platte heraus, produziert von Trevor Horn, die, gespickt mit sensationellen Songmaterial, auch ihr groesster Erfolg werden sollte. Der Produzent liess sie fallen und widmete sich anderen Projekten, die ebenfalls erfolgreich waren, wie FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD oder THE ART OF NOISE. Schade nur, dass das Potenzial des hier nun Folgenden nie ganz ausgespielt wurde. Der Mix setzt sich zusammen aus der 'Polish Version' und aus der 'Beta Wrap Version'. Vielleicht ist das nicht der beste Mix von mir, aber das Ganze musste einfach getan werden.

The ignorance of the 90s.

No worries folks outside all over the world, the decadence of the 80s will be continued of course, I promise, but I felt it was time to move directly to the next decade of wonderful music. And the "ignorance" is meant positive, because in this decade the composers, musicians, producers, and whoever else in the biz, began to ignore the usual ways of recording, producing and mixing tunes in a way, that many voices told us, that this would be the real end of music. Anyway, here is the opposit. A band, founded unbelievably way back in 1984 by Jon Marsh, which had several years to do before they got their first hit in 1990. I bring you a song, produced three years later. And I'm not sure, if these two versions, I made the mix from, featuring a great guest artist, were released before, but if yes, let me know, but now and firstly ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.
