Fred Chichin, le guitariste du duo rock français les Rita Mitsouko, est décédé mercredi matin à l'âge de 53 ans, des suites d'un cancer fulgurant, ont annoncé la maison de disques Because et l'organisateur de concerts Corida.
Cette maladie a emporté le guitariste en deux mois, ont indiqué Because et Corida dans un communiqué.
Les Rita Mitsouko, que Fred Chichin avait formés avec sa compagne, la chanteuse Catherine Ringer, en 1979, avaient dû annuler plusieurs concerts ces jours derniers en raison de l'état de santé du guitariste. Ils auraient dû notamment se produire mercredi soir à l'Olympia.
Leur dernier album, "Variéty", était sorti en avril.
Les Rita Mitsouko, l'un des groupes phares du rock français dans les années 80, avaient été les auteurs de nombreux tubes dont "Marcia baila", "Y a d'la haine", "Andy", "Les histoires d'A" ou "C'est comme ça".
Frédéric Chichin était né en 1954 à Clichy, d'un père cadre et passionné de cinéma, qui avait créé dans les années 60 la revue "Miroir du cinéma".
Passionné de rock anglo-saxon dans son adolescence (les Beatles, les Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix), il rencontre la chanteuse Catherine Ringer au printemps 1979 dans le cadre du spectacle "Flashes rouges" auquel ils participent tous deux.
Ils décident de former un duo rock qu'ils appellent d'abord les Spratz, avant d'opter pour Rita Mitsouko. "Rita" avait été choisi pour ses consonances sud-américaines et "Mitsouko" signifie mystère en japonais.
Le groupe avait ajouté "Les" devant "Rita Mitsouko" au milieu des années 80, car le public pensait souvent que ce nom était celui de la seule chanteuse, et non du duo.
Leur premier album, paru en 1984, contient la chanson qui les propulse sur le devant de la scène: "Marcia baila", morceau latino-rock qui rend hommage à la danseuse argentine Marcia Moretto, décédée d'un cancer. La chanson se vend à plus d'un million d'exemplaires et est le premier tube d'une longue série.
La musique des Rita Mitsouko mêle des influences rock, funk, punk, ska, sud-américaines, ainsi qu'un solide sens de l'humour.
Le duo avait enregistré 11 albums studios, dont "Variéty", qui était également sorti en version anglaise.

Great events often are forshadowed, so are the presidential elections in the United States of A. on 4th of November 2008. Even if it lasts almost one year to this fateful elections for the American people, it can't be too early for me to made my own thoughts about all this. Finally I took my own choice by now, and I'm sure, the Americans would take it all easier, if they could choose that way, I can and I want to do. My vote goes to CLARENCE REID! :-)

Hier kommt der 'Ursprung allen Uebels', der meistverkaufte Dancefloor Kracher bis dato. Und man hoert noch immer nicht auf diesen Song zu veraendern, aufzuwerten, zu verbraten, zu verhunzen, oder was auch immer. Erst diese Tage habe ich eine 2007er dub version aus dem weltweiten Netz gefischt, und es war fuer mich klar: So kann ich das nicht stehen lassen, so nicht - no way!

Eigentlich will ich gar nicht so viel machen, aber wenn einem die Dinger nur so um die Ohren fliegen, ist es fuer mich ein Verbrechen, hier nix draus zu machen. Angesichts des Ergebnisses allerdings bin ich davon ueberzeugt, dass manche, die sich dieses Ergebnis, den neuesten 'chronovisor mix' naemlich, akustisch inhalieren, genau dies als das eigentliche Verbrechen bezeichnen. Sei's drum, ich konnte nicht anders, mein eigener Wunsch war mir Befehl! :-) Fuer alle anderen gilt: ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.

Denmarks own Niels created a fantastic anniversery section on his website, which is featuring THE HUMAN LEAGUE (the link is located below), and he started a fan mix competition the last weeks. Finally my mix has taken place on his website, I appereciated so much. Talented he is, he also created a very nice artwork, which I am allowed to post here. Below you also can find some lovely words he wrote.

Week 6:

The Human League's long and impressive career is certainly worth celebrating and since the band has decided to celebrate it with a Dare theme, I thought this site should do the same! So I've teamed up with some talented DJ's and music fanatics from around the world, who in the past has made themselves noted on the web with some great edits of Human League classics. And I've asked them to do some exclusives versions of tracks from the Dare album as a joint venture with The-Black-Hit-Of-Space.dk, which will be put online in the coming weeks, as we count down to the Dare 2007 Tour.

Next in line is Austria's own Floyd Anderson, another prominent member of the blogspot mix community. You may know him better as Chronovisor, mastermind behind the excellent chronovisor mix v1.0 of You Remind Me Of Gold, Being Boiled and Total Panic, all released on his blog. And with a track record like that he was another obvious choice to ask to do a mix for this project. He was very happy to help out and he really came up trumphs with an marvelous extended version of Seconds.

Dearest music.blog.lovers all over the world!

Folks, this is a premiere! And I've absolutely no idea, if I will let this continue. I felt that this work must have been done sooner or later. Much earlier in my life I was DJing (I mentioned that some time somewhere), and everyone, who have been a DJ for a while knows that this is a damned virus, which won't leave you the whole life.

I always was and still am a very conservative mixer. My ideal on this is PAUL OAKENFOLD from the late 90s and in the millenium year. For all my mix series I surrender the tracklist, because it's more exiting not to know, what you get. But no worries, you'll find the track names in the mp3 tag of your player.

As I promised, here is the second song, which was also the second release from this music project (I don't wanna say band). Sadly they splitted up after one year of existence. But thank god, we still can listen to their music, and thinking about, what would have been possible, if they would have been played out their complete potential.

ACT! - like, ...you know? ;-) (Part 1)

Today I proudly present you a shorttime collaboration between PROPAGANDA vocalist, CLAUDIA BRÜCKEN and cult favourite electro pioneer THOMAS LEER. The pair released a handful of smart singles and one album before deciding to cut and run. Satirizing the glitz and indulgence of the entertainment industry, the first release came at a time when perhaps the public had grown weary of the promotional style of ZTT and just didn't 'buy' it. Ultimately, the duo suffered the cynicism of the industry they lampooned.

And why Part 1? Well I already now decided to lay my hands on a second song from this funny collaboration. But later more. If I'm not completely wrong, this special 'chronovisor mix' is a request from somebody sometimes back in those days. :-) This version ist chronovised, dreamtimed, crossovered, cygnetized, razormaided, disconeted, mastermixed, you name it, from the 'extended version', from the 'naked civil version' and from the 'that's entertainment version'. The diffidence of the 70s (Part 4).

Einen hier auf dem Kontinent sehr unterschaetzten britischen Musiker und seinen Kollegen will ich heute praesentieren. Bekannt wurde eines ihrer Musikstuecke nur deshalb, weil sich im deutschen Fernsehen wohl irgendjemand gedacht hatte, dieses als Kennmelodie fuer ein neues Fernsehmagazin herzunehmen.
Nun, so geschah's, Magazin und Musik wurden beruehmt, das Magazin namentlich und die Kennmelodie eben nicht. Diesem Umstand musste abgeholfen werden, indem ich mir dieses im Originalen nur 90 Sekunden langen Stueckes annahm und eine Art Radio Version daraus machte.
Als ich damit fertig war, fiel mir ein wichtiger Zusammenhang mit dem vorigen posting auf, denn diese Musiker veroeffentlichten ihre Werke groesstenteils auf dem britischen Label KPM Music Ltd. Offensichtlich ist die Musik von diesem Label sehr zu empfehlen, und natuerlich auch dieser chronovisor mix, zu dem ich gute Unterhaltung wuensche. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.
